About Dr. Fields
Dr. Hannah Fields grew up in Boulder, Colorado, though she considers herself to be half-Minnesotan as her mother’s family originates from the Northfield and Red Wing area. While completing her Bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry and psychology at the University of Colorado, she discovered her passion for rural and community health while working with migrant farm workers and in a critical access hospital in the Peruvian Andes. Dr. Fields returned to her Minnesotan roots to study at the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota, and while at Mayo was awarded a scholarship to study a Master’s of public health in Barcelona, Spain. She focussed her thesis on developing and evaluating a pilot program of prescribing community activities to improve health for patients at rural health centers.
Dr. Fields graduated with her Medical Doctorate in 2015, and in 2018 she completed her training as a Board-Certified Family Physician at the University of Colorado and Denver Health family medicine residency. From 2018 to 2022 she served as medical director and worked as a family physician at a safety-net clinic, and part-time in substance use rehabilitation in the Rocky Mountains of Estes Park, Colorado. Dr. Fields cares for patients of all ages and health needs, including pediatrics, prenatal care, mental health, prevention, and diagnosis and treatment of complex and chronic health conditions. She and her husband David enjoy cooking, playing music together, traveling, skiing, and playing with their dogs Bowie, Cora, and Dali. Dr. Fields joined the Madison Healthcare Services team in 2022.
