As part of new federal regulations in the 21st Century Cures Act, health care organizations across the country will be required to ensure Electronic Health Information (EHI) is immediately available and released to patients through their MyChart account or upon request.
Under the 21st Century Cures Act, patients will see changes to the delivery of their EHI including Immediate MyChart access to:
- Physician notes
- Assessments
- Care plans
- Test results
- Discharge summaries
- Immunizations and medications
- Procedures
- Health concerns
The new guidelines allow patients to have more real-time access to their medical information to help them better manage their health care and support informed conversations with their health care teams. The guidelines were also created to support interoperability and communication between physicians, and care teams.
We understand that seeing your results in real-time may lead to questions or concerns. Your health is our priority. Please know that your MHS provider is committed to your care and therefore it is important for them to review your results and assess the information in order to make the most informed decision about your care. If follow-up is needed, your provider will contact you to determine the next steps in your plan of care.
