The Tri-County COVID Medical Center (TCMC) stands ready should there be a high volume of COVID-19 patients needing hospitalization in Chippewa, Lac qui Parle and Swift counties. TCMC, which was scheduled to open March 30, 2020, was notified by the State Health Care Coordination Center that it will need to postpone its opening until there is a determination that the facility has been selected by the MN Department of Health as the MN Southwest region’s Alternative Care Site.
Appleton Area Health (Appleton, MN), CCM Health (Montevideo, MN), Johnson Memorial Health Services (Dawson, MN), Madison Healthcare Services (Madison, MN), and Swift County Benson Health Services (Benson, MN) have done amazing work in preparing TCMC for the emerging COVID-19 outbreak. This work will be invaluable to the region and state as they prepare to manage this unprecedented event in our
country’s history.
The five independent health care organizations collaborating on this project will continue to provide exceptional care for their patients, who remain their top priority through this pandemic.
Further updates regarding TCMC will be provided through Appleton Area Health’s Public Information Officer. News media inquiries should be directed to Angel Molden by emailing [email protected].
