Full time day hours. Rotating on call schedule.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician efficiently performs services, repairs, and other maintenance duties related to plumbing, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and equipment to provide a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for residents, tenants, patients, personnel, and visitors in all facilities.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Repairs, services, and maintains:
- Plumbing, faucets, drains, and water softeners.
- Mechanical, AHU, chiller, rooftop units.
- Electrical, electronic system, sound systems, telephone system, nurse call systems, and fire alarm systems.
- Boilers, steam and hot water, circulating pumps, air, compressors, and chemical tanks.
- Laundry equipment, washer and dryer, etc.
- Dietary equipment, dishwasher, ovens, garbage disposals, etc.
- Completes work orders as assigned.
- Performs regular preventative maintenance as scheduled.
- Drives vehicles and handles machinery.
- Maintains shop, boiler rooms and work areas in safe and clean manner.
- Hauls garbage, unload vehicles, unload freight, and store inventory as assigned.
Education / Experience
- Must have a valid Minnesota Driver’s License.
- Must have a Low pressure Special Engineer License or be able to obtain one within 520 hours initial evaluation period.
- Must acquire a Second Class Grade C Engineers License within 2 years after hire.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Must possess a working knowledge of servicing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems such as boilers, alarms, motors, air conditioners, washers/dryers, security systems, dietary equipment, etc.
- Must be willing and able to perform manual tasks continuously.
- Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able to respond to emergency call from facility within 15 minutes during scheduled on-call hours
